An introduction to poverty
Born and raised in the Netherlands, arrived a year ago in South Africa. My first introduction to extreme poverty. Experiencing the HUGE contrasts shocked me more!!!! No (cultural) integration, although thirteen years after Apartheid.
.
My purpose of working out the Umeebee-project
is to eradicate the extreme contrasts in this world! Contributing to a global awareness and uplifting society! With internet as a medium to connect people. With a very important focus on each persons personal strength, believe in goodness of every human being, the power of the local initiative, openness and honesty and creation of equal possibilities for all!
.
The focus
is on Africa and mostly on education. I think the way forward in this world is stimulating business, but in order to let these businesses survive, a good preparation is needed. >>>> which i believe is education. Education in a much broader sense...as a stimulation, as an uplifting tool to awareness.
.

My experience here in South Africa:

local people in need often tend to think people in the west are born rich and even feel that they deserve to receive some of the innate wealth. They don’t realize that people in the West work hard for their money!

.

My experience in Europe:

people tend to think that extreme poverty will be eradicated if we all donate some money. They don’t realize that money is just one of the sources that we should share in order to eradicate poverty.

.

Umeebee’s guiding principles

everybody has to contribute and be aware of the fact that poverty can only really be eradicated if every individual realises that we have to work together; connect and exchange resources, come in to action to work together to a global awareness and a world of participation and respect.

.
Worlds must come together! We must all get richer>>>yes>>>of each others experiences. Sharing the technology resources and knowledge.
.
With Umeebee I do not just want to make a donation site. I want people to get emotionally involved and stimulate them to participate, not only online.
.
With love, frerieke
